Family of Four

We are adjusting to life with two kids!  Ruby absolutely loves her little brother, who she has affectionally nicknamed, "little buddy" or "Jacer Jot."  She can't give him enough hugs and kisses and lets us know that he needs more milk or his mommy whenever he cries.  Jace is such a good baby and seems to be extremely laid back.  Ruby has transitioned well in sharing the attention she receives with her brother but she definitely lets us know that she is in the "terrible 2's" stage as well!

My little valentines ;)

Jon, Stef, and Syd came to visit when Jace was a week old.

Since I was 8 days early with Jace, Paul didn't have any time off until the 13th.  He was able to get someone to work for him the first night we were home from the hospital, which I was very thankful for!   He did however, work the following two evenings.  He then had almost two weeks off which was SO nice!  We were able to do lots of fun things as a family of 4 but most of all, it allowed Jace to receive plenty of snuggle time with one parent, while the other entertained his big sissy!

Jace William

On Saturday, February 9th, we welcomed our little boy into the world!  Jace William was born at 4:17am.  He's as precious as can be and we are so in love with him!

Paul was working in the ER the evening of February 8th.  Hattie, Ruby, and I headed to the mall for a bit that evening (in which I bought a $9 swimsuit from Old Navy that I was hoping to fit into post baby!) and after about an hour I told Hattie I was ready for the couch!  After getting Ruby to bed, I started having some minor contractions that were 2-3 minutes apart.  Hattie seemed to be a bit more worried than I was... she googled labored signs and began asking me questions.  After answering "yes" to all of her questions, she thought I better head to the hospital!  I wasn't quite sure if this was actually the real deal but I knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep.  I let Paul know I was on my way and I met him in the ER.  We headed up to labor and delivery. and at this point I still wasn't totally sure this was it.  However, after 45 minutes the contractions really kicked in and then I was sure!  I got an epidural and soon after Jace was born!  Much easier this time around!

Jace was so funny right after being born.  He had the biggest pout I've ever seen!  He kept pouting for a good ten minutes!

Jace had plenty of visitors that first day, including his big sister!  I was so excited for Ruby to get there to meet her new brother.  She was in love with him immediately!

We were able to go home already on Sunday which we were very thankful for.

Jace, you are so loved and we thank God for you every day.
