Summer Trips to Sibley

We managed to take three different trips to Sibley this summer!  Twice in July and once in early September!

Getting settled for the 5+ car ride.  We have a DVD player that is a lifesaver.  However, artwork is a love for these kiddos so it often keeps them occupied for bits of time in the car as well.

The first trip was over the Fourth of July.  Paul was able to join us for the weekend even though he didn't seem to make any pictures.  We got to spend some time with Hattie and Brandon on July 3rd.

We saw fireworks in Sheldon on Friday night.

Even Annie enjoyed them!

And since we had so much fun, we traveled to Worthington, MN for more fireworks on Saturday night!  Jace's permanent spot on Grandpa Bill's lap.

Our Fourth of July cuties :)

Ruby, 4.5 years

Jace, 2.5 years

 Annie, 4 months

The second July trip happened just a couple weeks later.  My sister and her husband moved to Phoenix early August, so we wanted to make sure to make another trip before their big move.

We were also fortunate enough to plan our trip during the Osceola County Fair where we got to see Cousin Sydney show her calf, Moosic.  Now Ruby wants a calf.... I had to break it to her that we have no where to keep a calf.  ;)  And...she doesn't know what happens to these calfs when they "grow up."  Sydney did a great job training her calf and is a true farm girl.  And Papa Gary and Grandma Ruth wouldn't miss out on seeing Sydney show her first calf, so Grandma Ruth was able to help me make the trip back home since Paul was unable to join us.

We spent the weekend enjoying the beautiful weather outside!

Grandpa Bill and Grandma LaDonn's pool got a LOT of use.

My sweet cousin Peyton with Annie :)

We took a day trip to Okoboji.  We spent a few hours at the beach and Arnold's Park.

The day tuckered the boys out...

...but these girls have so much energy!  We got home from the beach and they went straight to the pool!

Sunday morning we drove to Sioux Falls to see Kenny and Carrie and Tate.  After church we took an opportunity to take some outdoor pictures and feed the ducks...one of Tate's favorite activities.

We had brunch at the Casino outside of Sioux Falls and all got a good laugh when Ruby teased Tate about how much chocolate he had on his face... little did she know...!  The chocolate fountain was obviously a big hit!

Sunday afternoon was spent back relaxing at Grandpa Bill and Grandma LaDonn's house.

Smores that evening!

And Monday we were able to spend some time with my grandparents!

That afternoon, Ruby played dress-up in all our old dance costumes!  Too cute!

We headed back to Coralville on Tuesday.  Grandpa Ruth had already gone back home so I traveled solo.  Besides Annie needing a complete change of clothes during one of our stops, the trip went just fine!  I am so grateful for my three good travelers because Paul wasn't able to join us in September either when we headed back for Tate's third birthday.

After traveling, a park date was definitely on order!

And all that traveling and walking and playing has tired two kiddos out!

Saturday morning Hawkeye gear :)

And no trip to Sibley is complete without a Saturday morning bakery run!

My cousins Abby and Ally and their kids joined us for the Hawkeye game.  We had a fun day...sort of watching the game...and playing with all the kids.  Everyone loves Grandpa/Uncle Bill.  ;)

Ruby, Jaylee, Dannah
Jace and Easton

And the weather was gorgeous so the pool got some more use!

Then on Sunday we headed to Sioux Falls for Tate's party.  The bouncy house was a big hit.

Uncle Kenny and Annie ;)
Kenny and Carrie are expecting baby #2 in late January/early February!!

Ruby, Tate the birthday boy, and Jace

Tate adores Annie.  He is going to be such a great big brother!

My dad drove the mini van to Sioux Falls and back... so I got to ride in the back with that silly girl!  It didn't take long for Jace to fall asleep but Ruby made it the full hour back to Sibley wide awake being silly with mom!  ;)

Sunday night snuggles back at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

Ruby insisted on playing one game of UNO before getting in the car to go back home to Coralville.  Grandpa Bill and Annie were on a team and she wanted those cards so bad!

And traveling back home to see Daddy!

Still smiling upon arrival!
