Ruby Turns 5!

Our Ruby girl turned FIVE on December 17th.  That's one whole hand!  ;)
She was SO excited for her birthday.  I think we counted down all year long!  Seriously.

We had a great day celebrating our five year old.  She had dance on her birthday and she brought candy canes to share with her dance friends.  She picked Texas Roadhouse for her birthday supper.

The next night we celebrated with Paul's family.  We attempted our own cake...
It tasted good.  I never proclaimed to be an expert cake baker.   HAHA!  But at least we got a picture to document it for future laughs!

Ruby asked for a braid... and a braid she got.

Ruby was very set on having a Rainbow "home party" with friends.
Hy-Vee came through with a beautiful rainbow cake!

The birthday gang...such sweet girls.

We played lots of rainbow themed games.

And we sang Happy Birthday to the big FIVE year old!

And more presents.  This girl has no shortage of presents in the month of December!

This girl is SO sweet and SO funny.  She is the best big sister to Jace and Annie.  Obviously they have their moments, but she takes Jace under her wing and is so protective of him.  And she adores Annie and is a great "babysitter."  She loves school with ART being her favorite thing to do there.  Ruby could color and create artwork all day long.  She also loves to write.  I'm not sure how many words we spell each day but she is slowly adding more and more words to her list of words she can spell on her own.  She is a fast runner and loves to be outside.
She can still be pretty shy around new people and in big groups of people.  However, she is so silly and crazy at home!  She developed a southern accent with Grandma LaDonn during our last trip to Sibley which of course had us all in stitches.  Her facial expressions and comments give us the giggles everyday.  She loves to sing and make up her own words.  She loves to make up her own games as well and loves to play make believe, especially with daddy!

We are so thankful to God who gave her to us to love and protect.  And we pray for many more birthdays to spoil and celebrate her!  We love you, Ruby Kae!
