When daddy needs to sleep...

Paul's hours have become much more "normal" now that he has some administrative roles.  He usually only works one overnight a month!  But when he needs to sleep, we LEAVE!  He doesn't ask this of us, but I swear...when you're trying to be quiet, you just end up being louder!

So on one of our last "daddy needs to sleep" days, we first headed out for an early supper.  They could all agree on Buffalo Wild Wings, so that's where we went.

Then we attended the intrasquad track meet at the University of Iowa's brand new indoor track.  I was very impressed with this track and thoroughly enjoyed watching the runners.  One of the girls on the team goes to our church so we cheered extra loud for Tia!  ;)

Ruby and Jace also got to run in the kids' race.  We had to talk Jace into doing it, because he was a tad nervous about the gun.  But in true Ruby fashion, she gave him a little pep talk and he did it.  Here they are holding hands at the start line.

When Paul works overnight, Ruby and Jace get to have a sleepover in my bed.  When Annie learns of this, we might have to make adjustments.  I don't think I can handle three in my bed!

The next morning, we found a breakfast to attend that offered a free picture with Santa.  This Santa was apparently tired.  Annie wanted nothing to do with taking her picture with him.

Then we headed to the play area at the mall to run off some energy before heading back home for lunch.
