The Fourth of July

The kids and I headed to Sibley the Friday before the 4th to Grandpa Bill and Grandma LaDonn's house.  We arrived just in time to go 20 extra miles to Sheldon to participate in a few of their carnival activities before fireworks.

Ruby, cousin Tate, Jace

Annie was a champ and stayed awake for the festivities.  Even though she looks pretty calm in this picture, she had a death grip on me most of the time.  She never cried but was just a tad bit on the fearful side.

Saturday and Sunday were relaxing days in Sibley.  We went to the nearby school park.

These three tried out the hammock.

Annie enjoyed giving kisses through the front porch railing.

I took Ruby and Jace swimming while Annie stayed home and napped.

We had a few extended family members over for supper and enjoyed playing outside.

Ruby and my cousin, Jilian

Ruby and Jace got a ride in grandma's convertible.
This pose was just for the picture and not the ride  ;)

Someone else needed a turn in the convertible too...just for a picture ;)

Sparkler fun after the sun went down.

We packed up on the 4th and made it to Papa Gary and Grandma Ruth's house in Williamsburg.  We headed straight downtown for their annual parade.  Annie waved to all 200 tractors in the parade.  ;)

We thought the cornfield made a perfect backdrop for a quick Fourth of July photo session.

Waiting for the fireworks.

Catching and holding fireflies.

Annie enjoyed the fireworks a little bit more this time.

Not sure what was so funny but I just love these silly boys.
