And the rest of July

Paul's cousin, Jesse, traveled through town with his three kiddos, and they spent the night with us!
Jace and Ruthie were instant BFFs.  ;)

One of our favorite summertime spots is "Pizza on the Farm" otherwise known as Stone Wall Pizza in Wellman, Iowa.  We have frequented the farm quite often with several friends and it's now become a "must do" on our summer bucket list!

Camping and hiking with Papa Gary and Grandma Ruth.  Gary and Ruth bought a new camper this summer and allow the kids to spend a few nights with them throughout the summer.  They love it!

The big kids each got some special one on one time with Gary and Ruth as well.  They got to spend the night and learn how to sew.  Ruby chose to make diaper rags for her two new cousins.

Then it was Jace's turn! He chose to make a Hawkeye pillow and case!

Never a lack of playdates!

A quick weekend trip back to Sibley!

We harvested green beans and cucumbers from Gary and Ruth's garden.

The Butterfly House at the Johnson County Fair was a big hit.

We went out in the kayaks for the first time!  So fun!

A day trip to Adventureland.

After waiting in line for at least 45 minutes, Annie gave the Raging River a thumbs down.  She still talks about it months later!

She much preferred the other rides that did not get her wet!

The big kids spent a good chunk of the day with daddy on all the "big" rides, but they also had time for a ride with Annie on her favorite: the ladybugs.  :)

Put me in Coach!  Best little fan watching t-ball!

Beach days!!!

And one of our favorite days of the summer!  We rented a pontoon, invited the rest of the VH clan, and went out on the lake to celebrate Gary and Ruth's 40th anniversary!  It was SO fun!

We also rented a Paradise Pad which was great fun for ALL!....

...although Annie's favorite part was snacking on the boat.

Paul was all time captain.  He loved every bit of it... until we beached the pontoon when we got just a tad too close to the riverbank.  Nothing a little push couldn't help!
