All summer long, Ruby and her cousin Sydney talked about getting their ears pierced. So the day before school started, we made an appointment. My sister in law had a friend who suggested going to an actual tattoo and piercing parlor since they are in fact, the "professionals." We decided that seemed reasonable and I scheduled an appointment for an exact time where two people would be available to do both ears at the same time. I also asked about prices and the woman quoted me with what seemed to be reasonable prices.
We arrived at said time and nothing was ready for us. First strike. We then started filling out the paperwork. Then the girls were able to start picking out their earrings. The cheapest priced earrings were WAY over what we were expecting. After inquiring, we were informed that each earring is a separate price AS WELL AS THE BACKS of the earrings! Strike two. Then as we waited and waited some more, one of the workers finally came and said, "so you want two people to do the piercings at one time, correct?" YES. He proceded to go find another worker who was out having a smoke break. And he didn't even come back in with him. Strike three. We told them this wasn't working for us and we decided to leave. I want to add that perhaps this place is normally a really great place, but it just wasn't working for us!
So we made a quick call to Claires! Sure enough there was only one worker but after giving the girls the option of going another night or getting each ear pierced separately, they opted for being tough and getting them done that night! And they did SO great! China Rose, the sweet woman at Claires was amazing and so helpful! So needless to say, we should have just done the Claires route which was our initial thought when this whole talk began! And way cheaper too!
So so fun! And now Ruby is growing quite the earring collection!
